DESCRIPTION:T-cells are an essential component of the immune response\, im
portant for the elimination of viral infection and the natural eradication
of cancer. In addition\, T-cells can play a major role in the pathogenesi
s of common diseases such as autoimmunity. Research within the group is fo
cussed on three main areas: mechanisms of T-cell activation\, understandin
g the role that T-cells play in disease and manipulation of the T-cell res
ponse for therapeutic benefit. The research talk will focus on understandi
ng the T-cell response to foreign pMHCI and how this can inform intelligen
t design of immune therapies to beneficially manipulate the immune respons
 e.
