DESCRIPTION:Francis Crick Prize Lecture 2016 given by Dr Madan Babu Mohan\
 n\nIf DNA is the blueprint of life\, proteins are the building blocks. Res
 earch over the last century has shown that the shapes adopted by proteins 
 determine their functions. Mutations that affect their shapes cause human 
 diseases. However in recent decades\, scientists have discovered that a la
 rge number of proteins do not adopt defined shapes. Nevertheless\, these u
 nstructured proteins perform functions that are critical for the survival 
 of organisms.\nJoin Dr Mohan to discover how unstructured proteins perform
  their functions\, contribute to cellular complexity and cause human disea
 ses including cancer and neurodegeneration.\nDr Madan Babu Mohan was award
 ed the 2016 Francis Crick lecture for his major and widespread contributio
 ns to computational biology.\n\nWho should attend? \nThis is a free\, publ
 ic lecture aimed both at scientists within the field\, early career resear
 chers and interested members of the general public. The lecture will give 
 an introduction to this fascinating area and a glimpse of the future capab
