DESCRIPTION:The 2015 Institute of Medicine (IOM) report “Improving Diagn
 osis in Health Care” highlights the problem of missed and delayed diagno
 ses and the need to ensure that health information technologies support pa
 tients and health care professionals in the diagnostic process. However\, 
 most health care systems around the world are far from achieving that goal
  at present.  Dr Singh\, who testified to the IOM panel and has worked on 
 several national reports and initiatives related to diagnostic safety and 
 health IT\, will present a brief snapshot of research on understanding and
  improving diagnosis in electronic health record-enabled healthcare settin
 gs.
