DESCRIPTION:‘Moving on’ was the most dominant response to the ICC inte
rvention among those most affected by the 2007 post-election violence in K
enya. ‘Moving on’ became an overarching narrative anchored on local re
alities of moral reciprocity\, material and political interests. This narr
ative inevitably eroded the legitimacy of the ICC. This paper presents evi
dence on contestation of the Court’s legitimacy from below.
