DESCRIPTION:Internet is expanding fast in many countries in Africa and it 
 is important to understand how the deployment of physical and logical infr
 astructures are impacting network performance in the African region. AFRIN
 IC works collaboratively with different partners organisations for e.g. RI
 PE NCC on the RIPE Atlas project and Research ICT Africa on broadband meas
 urement studies. We shall present some work we are planning to do this yea
 r.\n\nBio: Amreesh's current research interests are in network performance
  measurements\, localized cloudlets and fog computing. He is currently loo
 king into how a localized Internet can help bring down the cost of connect
 ivity to rural areas in South Africa. He works as the Research and Innovat
 ion Manager at AFRINIC and he is currently reading for a PhD in Computer S
 cience at the University of Cape Town. He is currently visiting the Networ
 king for Development lab with whom he collaborates on several projects e.g
 . EPSRC GCRF African Internet Measurement Observatory\, Localised hybrid c
 loudlet deployments in Cape Town etc to name a few.
