DESCRIPTION:On March 11\, the Centre of Governance and Human Rights will b
 e co-hosting an Asylum Monologues event with Cambridge University Amnesty 
 International\, Cambridge Student Action for Refugees (STAR)\, and ice&fir
 e. Ice&fire is a London-based charity that aims to explore human rights st
 ories through performance. Launched in June 2006\, Asylum Monologues is on
 e of the organization’s signature events\, and it uses the performances 
 of actors to provide a first-hand account of the UK’s asylum system in t
 he words of people who have experienced it. After the performances\, atten
 dees will be encouraged to participate in a discussion about translating t
 heir emotional responses to the testimonies into political action. \n
