DESCRIPTION:Dr Ha-Joon Chang is Reader in the Political Economy of Develop
 ment\, Faculty of Economics. Dr Chang is one of the world’s best-known e
 conomists\, and he has advised various governments and international insti
 tutions. His academic work focuses on the role of institutions\, in part
 icular the role of the state\, in economic development.\nApart from acad
 emic books\, Dr Chang has also written books about economics for the gen
 eral public. These include Bad Samaritans Rich Nations and Economics: The 
 User’s Guide. Dr Chang’s books have sold millions of copies across the
  world\, and they have been translated into 37 languages. \nIn this keynot
 e address\, Dr Chang will share his experience and advice in writing for t
 he public and non-specialist audiences. \n
