 -Hodess_ is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the University of Califor
 nia\, Berkeley. A long-time activist in the trade union movement\, Katy is
  the former Berkeley campus Chair of the UAW 2865\, the University of Cali
 fornia labor union which represents 13\,000 graduate student teaching assi
 stants from across the state of California. She will be discussing UAW 286
 5's vision of left-wing political unionism and grassroots union democracy.
 \n\n_Jack Saunders_ is an activist with FACE - Fighting Against Casualisat
 ion in Education and a labour historian at the University of Warwick. He'l
 l be talking about past campaigns by groups in the FACE network\, as well
