DESCRIPTION:We have developed high-pressure electrical transport methods a
 nd have\napplied them at record pressures of 260 GPa and at temperatures d
 own to\nthe millikelvin range. These experiments have been crucial for stu
 dies\nof metallization and the search for superconductivity in a number of
 \nelemental and simple compounds. We will discuss recent results on\nvario
 us low-Z materials\, including lithium\, boron\, nitrogen\, hydrogen\,\nan
 d light hydrides at megabar pressures.\n
