 they are members or not. Our branch has invited the UCU National Pensions 
 Official\, Christine Haswell\, to speak at this open meeting to explain an
 d discuss the new Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) pensions scheme
 \, which is now in full operation\, with CRB replacing Final Salary from 1
  October 2016. We will also discuss the complex choices that face members 
 regarding the Investment Builder investment scheme that replaces additiona
 l voluntary contributions.  \n\n*We are also reaching the triennial valuat
 ion of USS\, the outcome of which may affect all members.* Christine will 
 talk to us about the importance of this valuation for us  all. Up for disc
 ussion will be:\n\n* how the scheme operates\n* what happens when you chan
 ge jobs\n* whether you can draw benefits before retirement\n* how to negot
 iate the choices the scheme offers\n* the triennial scheme valuation\n\nTh
