DESCRIPTION:Title : Quantum Correlations vs. Classical Correlations\nMR14\
, 4pm\n\nAbstract: In this talk\, we discuss equivalences and inequivalenc
es\nbetween quantum and classical correlations.\n\nFirst\, we prove that s
ecrecy can be established by sending non-secret\ncorrelations through a pr
ivate channel\, deriving the classical analog of the\nquantum scenario\, t
hat separable states can be used to distribute\ndistillable entanglement i
 n [PRL 91 037902 (2003)]. The derivation is based\non a conceptually natur
al equivalence between quantum and classical\noperations.\n\nThen\, we cha
racterize the cryptographic properties of quantum channels in\nthe realist
ic scenario where the two honest parties employ prepare and\nmeasure proto
cols and the known two-way communication reconciliation\ntechniques. We ob
tain a necessary and sufficient condition for key\ndistillation\, in arbit
rary dimension. This may imply existence of weakly\nentangled states from
which a secret key cannot be distilled.
