DESCRIPTION:We're delighted to welcome an amazing panel to this SciScreen
and post screening discussion. The panel includes:\n\n-Ann Clarke\, Founde
r of Frozen Ark Charity.\n\n-Erwin Gorjup\, Head of Department Biomedical
 Technologies at Fraunhofer.\n\n-Iwan Palmer\, a Researcher at Fraunhofer\,
PhD in Biomedical Engineering and a Degree in Biology.\n\n-Alexander Mass
mann\, Research Associate at the Faraday Institute for Science and Religio
n.\n\n-Bronwen Aken\, Team Leader for Vertebrate Annotation\, European Bio
 informatics Institute\, Wellcome Genome Campus.\n\n\nThe frozen\, bodiless
genes of millions of plants\, animals and humans are stored in biobanks a
round the world. They rekindle dreams of old: re-creating extinct species\
, ending world hunger\, human life without illness or disease. But biobank
s do more than that. They pose a fundamental question to our contemporary
beliefs: What does it mean to be part of nature in the age of the genome?\
n\nSaving the DNA of all life on Earth will be one of the greatest interna
tional research projects of coming decades. Golden Genes — part nature f
ilm\, part political documentary — demonstrates the extent to which biod
iversity research is not only challenging human society but also our very
 conception of humankind.\n\nTickets:\nhttps://www.picturehouses.com/cinema
