DESCRIPTION:Xolela Mangcu is Professor of Sociology at the University of C
 ape Town\, and Oppenheimer Fellow at the Hutchins Centre for African and A
 frican American Research at Harvard University. He is the author and co-au
 thor of nine books\, including Biko: A Biography\, finalist for the Sunday
  Times Alan Paton Award for Non-Fiction\, the Recht Malan Prize\, the and 
 South African Books Award. Mangcu is widely known for his columns in Busin
 ess Day\, the Weekender\,  the Sunday Independent\, the Sowetan\, and op-e
 d articles in City Press and the Sunday Times. The Sunday Times has descri
 bed Mangcu as “possibly the most prolific public intellectual in South A
 frica.”
