DESCRIPTION:Our immune system is a complex mixture of cells that fight inv
 ading bacteria\, viruses and parasites.  Checkpoints ensure that developin
 g immune cells are healthy\, able to function properly\, and not growing i
 nappropriately.  During my talk I will outline these mechanisms and safegu
 ards\, and speak about how these checkpoints are enforced in immune cells.
