DESCRIPTION:Most of the statistical software that I have developed has bee
 n concerned with the production of graphical images\, in particular\, stat
 istical plots\, from data.  In this talk I will describe some recent work 
 that inverts that relationship and makes it possible to produce data from 
 graphical images.  I will show an example of the use of software tools to 
 extract the raw data from a statistical plot.
