DESCRIPTION:Wireless sensor networks are becoming popular in medical monit
oring and require higher levels of security. In this presentation\, I will
present a security architecture to provide authentication and key managem
ent for medical sensor networks. Widely used EAP authentication framework
is extended and the GPSK authentication method is optimized for securing t
he system. Three-party EAP model with PAN coordinator as the authenticator
is used for authenticating PAN coordinator's first-hop neighbors. For dis
tant nodes\, relay authenticators are used for tunneling EAP messages from
supplicants to the authenticator and vice-versa. The EAP encapsulation fo
r WPANs and a key hierarchy are proposed for the system. The system is sim
ulated using NS-2\, which shows that EAP based security protocol is feasib
le in WSNs. \n\nThis talk is my master thesis from University of Northern
 British Columbia\, Canada.\n\n\n\n\n
