DESCRIPTION:We review the idea of unique factorization into prime numbers
in the integers\, see how it fails once you toss in extra numbers into the
integers\, and one way (known as Gauss composition) number theorists can
examine failure of unique factorization in certain cases. I'll end the tal
k with a description of how my thesis is an analogue of Gauss composition.
