hotography - Joshua Harvey\, Department of Engineering Science\, The Unive

DESCRIPTION:While we have separate sensory faculties for vision and audit
ion\, it has long been recognised that visual data may inform on various a
coustic phenomena. Technological advances have shifted the focus of this
visual data\, from the macroscale of a sounding body\, to vibrational mod
es\, and ultimately the acoustic waveform itself. I will present an over
view of visual-acoustic data through history\, from sensory perceptions o
f the medieval mind through to current research.\n
