DESCRIPTION:Clock synchronisation is a key problem in distributed systems.
When we can send a message across the world in less than a second\, it’
s important that everyone knows what time it is. The Network Time Protocol
(NTP) is a commonly used service for keeping time across wide area networ
ks. This talk will look in detail at how NTP works\, and its limitations.
We will also consider alternatives to NTP\, which can deliver time even mo
 re accurately on local networks.
