DESCRIPTION:Gravity currents of Newtonian fluids in homogeneous porous med
 ia have been widely studied and experimentally validated. In practical app
 lications (geophysical\, environmental\, industrial and biological) often 
 porous media are not homogeneous and fluids are non Newtonian\, and requir
 e a reformulation of the problems. A comprehensive analytical and experime
 ntal framework is presented to describe gravity-driven motions of rheologi
 cally complex fluids through porous media\, homogeneous or deterministical
 ly heterogeneous.
