DESCRIPTION:Dr Sarah Chan is a Chancellor’s Fellow at the Usher Institut
 e for Population Health Sciences and Informatics\, University of Edinburgh
 . She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Melbourne\,
  Australia\, in biological science and in law. She then moved on to work i
 n the area of science policy and stem cell ethics. From 2009 to 2015 she w
 as Deputy Director of the Institute for Science\, Ethics and Innovation\, 
 University of Manchester. Her research cover areas including the ethics of
  gene therapy and genetic information\, enhancement\, research ethics\, st
 em cells\, animal ethics and transhumanism. In her talk she will be focusi
 ng on the ethical implications of animal enhancement.\n\nRather than our t
 ypical cheese and wine receptions\, we'll head to the pub after this talk.
