Neural Coding and Microstimulation Studies of Motion Detection in the Primate Visual System
- 👤 Speaker: Nicolas Masse, Dept of Physiology, McGill University
- 📅 Date & Time: Monday 04 February 2008, 16:00 - 16:45
- 📍 Venue: MRC LMB: Neurobiology Division Seminar Room (Level 2)
Abstract
Nick Masse from Erik Cook’s lab at McGill will be presenting some of his recent work on visual motion processing in monkey area MT (Middle Temporal cortex). This will include an examination of the effect of spike phase on sensory encoding and how this correlates with behavior during a motion detection task. The second part will examine the use of electrical microstimulation to activate specific regions of visual cortex.
