The reduced Ostrovsky equation: integrability, breaking and orbital stability
- đ¤ Speaker: Ted Johnson (University College London)

- đ Venue: Seminar Room 1, Newton Institute
Abstract
This talk will show that provided the curvature of initial conditions is sufficiently small ( 3u’’ < 1 ) then the reduced Ostrovsky equation maps one-one to an integrable equation. For larger curvatures the solution breaks at finite time. It will also be shown that periodic solutions are orbitally stable.
