Abstract
The use of low carbon hydrogen offers a potential solution to many of the challenges of delivering Net Zero. From mobility, to home heating, to industrial decarbonisation, and on to energy transport and storage. In most cases there is an alternative option that looks more efficient, lower cost or technically less demanding. This seminar will take a whole systems view to unpicking where hydrogen might play a role in the future energy mix.
Jon Saltmarsh is Chief Technology Officer at Energy Systems Catapult, helping accelerate net zero energy innovation. Prior to this, he worked in what is now the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero providing technical advice and research on how to deliver the energy transformation, including initiating some of the major hydrogen initiatives now underway in the department.
