For our welcome event this year, we are pleased to invite Sacha Coward to talk about his book, ‘Queer as Folklore: The Hidden Queer History of Myths and Monsters’.

Sacha is a freelance museum professional who has worked at local, national and international museums and galleries. He has produced events, managed educational programmes, developed consultation and built gallery interactives and interpretation.

Queer as Folklore takes readers across centuries and continents to reveal the unsung heroes and villains of storytelling, magic and fantasy. Featuring images from archives, galleries and museums around the world, each chapter investigates the queer history of different mythic and folkloric characters, both old and new.

Come along and meet staff from across the University and affiliated institutions. Sacha will be signing copies of the books, and there will be refreshments after the talk.

Registration (free) is required: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/universityofcambridgelgbtqnetwork/1877282
