Abstract
This talk presents an experimental–numerical framework for investigating failure in adhesively bonded lightweight structures subjected to extreme mechanical environments. I will outline developments in high rate testing, together with data acquisition methods that enable predictive modelling of interface behaviour. Applications ranging from coupon level adhesive tests to bonded ballistic plates demonstrate how these methods translate across scales.
Series This talk is part of the Physics and Chemistry of Solids Group series.
