Abstract
According to the Standard Model, top quark pair production at the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton collider should exhibit a small forward-backward asymmetry, of the order of 5%. The CDF Collaboration has recently reported an asymmetry that is significantly larger, approaching 50% at high values of the pair invariant mass. The talk will discuss the experimental results, some suggested explanations, and the prospects for clarification at the Large Hadron Collider.
