Abstract
This talk aims to summarise the role of a patent attorney, including what a patent attorney does day to day. The talk will also discuss working as a patent attorney as a career, including why you might want to become a patent attorney and what it takes in practice to do so. The talk will also include some discussion of the role of patents in academic research.
