Abstract
From the relative simplicity of an onshore vertical gas-producing well that has almost pure methane flowing with a very small proportion of water, through to the complexity of a subsea oil production system that has inclined wells and long, large diameter pipelines at high pressure carrying oil, gas and larger proportions of water, the understanding of two-phase/multiphase flow is key to successful design and operation. The talk will describe a range of issues in the behaviour of flow and fluids, and show examples from modelling to the collection of field data.
