Quantification of near field blast loading
- đ¤ Speaker: Sam Clarke, Department of Civil and Structural Engineering, The University of Sheffield
- đ Date & Time: Thursday 28 May 2015, 16:00 - 17:00
- đ Venue: Mott Seminar Room, Cavendish Laboratory
Abstract
Recent research at the University of Sheffield has focussed on the accurate measurement of the near field loading from both free air high explosive blasts and explosives shallowly buried in soils. The talk will focus on the original aims of the program along with the results from a 3 year test series looking at the impulse output from buried explosives. It will then look into more detail at the temporal and spatial distribution of loading from the work currently being done and ramifications there of.
Series This talk is part of the Physics and Chemistry of Solids Group series.
