Abstract
I will review different classes of effective field theories that have emerged recently and that may play significant roles for cosmology, be it for inflation, for bouncing cosmologies, or for dark energy. They come with a set of observational features which could distinguish them in future surveys. To establish their theoretical consistency, I will investigate whether perturbative unitarity is preserved and whether they could ever enjoy a standard analytic UV completion.
