Abstract
Yelp has so much data that building tools for managing datastores is a hard problem in and of itself. We use tons of datastores spread across multiple clusters and datacenters. Developers maintaining these clusters used to spend far too much time manually executing dangerous cluster-wide operations such as service restarts and node replacements. In this talk, Archana A. explores the need for and the design of Taskerman, a reliable pull-based task manager, designed primarily for automating these disruptive tasks in a safe manner.
Yelp will provide lunch provided and are raffling off an iPad Mini w/Retina. To get a raffle ticket take your CV!
